Hello folks, This folder contains the Yahoo Power-Pro Mailing List archives in Keynote's .knt format. At the time of this writing, I had completed the archives for the year 2000, 2001, 2002 and monthly updates for the year 2003. There is no readme file added to each archive. This is the only readme file. This archive is in KeyNote's .knt format. You need to download and install KeyNote from Homepage: http://www.tranglos.com/free/index.html Download Page: http://www.tranglos.com/free/keynote_download.html Since we were fast running out of space in the yahoo groups files section, David Troesch has taken up the task of maintaining the older archives in his website: Link: http://www.pcrei.com/ppro/files/PPML_Archive/pproPPMLA_Archive.html Thank you, David. I have tried to use a table of single row and column as a box, to distinguish the scripts. You will be needing riched20.dll (version 4 or above) to view them properly, otherwise the table will look mangled. I have no idea from where you could get it from. They are supposed to have been distributed along with Office 2000, WinXP, Project and Visio 2002 and Windows Server 2003. Good luck in getting the required dll file if you don't it. I have modified all the older archives to use this table. So if you like this feature try downloading all the old files again (Please look at the uploaded date. Only files posted after October have this feature). Once downloaded, follow the steps given below. 0. Unzip the archive file 1. Open KeyNote. 2. Click File > open 3. Open the Keynote file containing the archive for the year 2000 4. Click Tools > Merge Notes 5. A "Select file to merge notes from" Dialog Box will open. 6. Now navigate to the folder where you have unzipped the archive files and select "PPMLA_2001.Knt" file. 7. Press the "Open" button. 8. A "Notes in PPMLA_2001.knt" Dialog Box will appear. 9. Check the only one entry that will appear there. (A tick mark will appear by the side of the checked item). 10. Select OK 11. Now the new note with the name 2002 will appear as a new tab. 12. That's it! you are done. 13. Follow the steps 4 - 13 similarly for merging 2001, 2002-I and 2002-II archives. Merging 2002-I and 2002-II files: 1. Goto the 2002-II note and select "08. Aug" folder 2. right click on it > transfer subtree > Lift subtree 3. Goto the 2002-I note and select the root folder. 4. right click on it > transfer subtree > graft subtree 5. now the whole "07. July" folder will be added to the 2002-I note. 6. carry out similar steps for copying the entire 2002-II folders into the 2002-I note. 7. Once you have finished the entire process, delete the 2002-II note 8. Rename 2002-I note to 2002. Note: You cannot do lift and graft subtree operations if 2002-I and 2002-II are in separate files. That's why you have to first merge both of them into a single file and then follow the above steps. In the end you can right click on the root folder > sort > sort entire tree, to sort the tree in ascending order. Though I have given the steps to collect all the years' archive into a single .knt file, mainly for searching purposes, my personal advice is to keep each year's archive in a separate .knt file like, 2000.knt, 2001.knt, 2002.knt etc. This is because Keynote struggles as the file size becomes larger taking longer time to open, save and search. Since you can open multiple .knt files at the same time (tools > configuration options > general settings > uncheck "allow only one instance") it should be no problem. I have also planned monthly updates of the archive. As far as the Jan2003 update is concerned, there will be no problem since the year is starting new. But for further updates like for in Feb., you will have to first merge the new update with 2003.knt file and then lift and graft the new updates into it. Phoenix: There will be a separate folder called "Phoenix" with each monthly update of the group postings. This folder will contains threads which were originally started in previous months, but were still continuing in the present month. Please copy them into their original thread and delete this folder once done. If you have any doubt downloading/using the archive, don't hesitate to contact me at Hope you find these compilations useful. regards, Nathan 03-12-2003
